Audio Drama – Podcasts Edition
I’ve been recently listening to a lot of podcasts as I commute to work. Most of which are usually an audio drama or comedy. As I am listening to podcasts pretty frequently, I can share some insight on one of my current favorite audio drama podcast at the moment.
I got into listening to audio drama podcasts randomly about a five or six months ago by just scrolling through Apple’s podcast app . I used to listen to a lot of success and building wealth podcasts. I quickly realized, I think I’d rather read an actual book on these topics instead of listening to them. So, I eventually moved on to my new found favorite, audio dramas. I will live and die by this genre of podcasts; well not literally, but you get the idea.
An audio drama podcast contains a storyline with voice actors, dialogue, sound effects, and music. This is very similar to the old radio shows that used to come on back in the day. As I’ve listened to more of them, I’ve started to realize how much production goes in to just one episode. The background sounds, multiple character voices, the storyline scripts, etc. The people behind these podcasts are definitely hard at work to make great content for us listeners. It doesn’t go unnoticed as audio drama podcasts are starting to become pretty popular.
Audio Drama Podcast 1 – Tower 4
Tower 4 was the first audio drama podcast that I listened to that submerged me into the world they cast created.
Background
Imagine being stuck in the woods with no quick access to safety. Things don’t turn out the way they should be in a new gig you decided to take in the middle of nowhere…..You just have your watch tower, radio, and one person you talk to almost every day since you started and you trust them…..until you don’t. Your job is to spot fires and report them, seems pretty easy right? Then why do things start to seem strange after a while once you start asking questions…
Definitely don’t want to say too much because there’s no need in spoiling it when you can go take a listen! This podcast will make you want to binge the seasons especially when the drama and action starts to ramp up.
Audio dramas are really becoming my new thing, especially since I take the train in to work every day. If you’re looking for something to have you on the edge of your seat and a very solid storyline, definitely check out Tower 4 audio drama podcast. Cheers to the first City Listens podcast log and to many more!
