2025 New Year Goals: All About Self-Care
2025 is now here and this had me thinking about things I’d been wanting to start accomplishing and I immediately thought about self-care. As I am moving in to my late 20’s, the more I value the motto “work hard, play harder”. Life can get very busy, especially with work, that we all can forget to make time for ourselves. We give so much to other parts of our lives, why shouldn’t we treat ourselves the same. So I’ve decided to really focus on five things to improve on this year that leans toward self care as that’s the theme I’m really trying to incorporate in my routine.
My 5 2025 New Year goals:
- Organization Is Key
- The Classic “Start Going Back to the Gym”
- Monthly Manicure & Pedicures
- Be More Present
- Increasing Water Intake
Organization Is Key
I’ve made a promise to myself that I will get more organized this year. I noticed that as I got older, my life just started to get busier. I constantly use a my calendar app to keep track and even that sometimes falls through the cracks. I’m a visual learner, so I did some research to find what would work for me. I was looking for something to help keep, quite literally, my life organized. I found a 365 dated planner and an annual financial planner.
Daily Planner
This is a 365 daily day planner that incorporates monthly calendars, goals, accomplishments, vision board, sections to plan ahead and so much more. What really sold me on this is that I can really get into the nitty gritty of planning my days.
I ultimately believe that having a physical planner or calendar benefits me more than the digital options. I want to actually put pen to paper so I can reflect over the year when it’s time to get a new annual planner. This is a good way to see where you’ve grown and where you experienced hard times but overcame. Also this is time to reflect on your strengths and areas where you can improve.
You want to be able to do a quick self analysis at the end of the year so you can compare to where you were in January to where you are now in December. We all want to grow as a person mentally, emotionally, professionally, etc. and this would be a bit of a highlight reel to actually track your progress within the daily planner.
Financial Planner
I’ve always wanted to purchase a yearly financial planner where I can track every expense, bills, subscriptions, etc. and know exactly how much I’m spending and saving. This will be a huge help for me in managing my finances on an everyday basis.
The Classic “Start Going Back to the Gym”
I believe that this is a standard New Year’s resolution, but is typically necessary to include in your routine. If starting in the New Year works for you, hey so be it.
Life gets extremely busy and as I am in my 20’s and my schedule is usually pretty packed especially with work. Starting this year, I will aim to work it into my normal schedule using my 365 Daily Planner I mentioned above. This will make sure that I won’t forget and that I keep up the motivation to be consistent with working out. I usually like to ease back into my workout routine with one of my go to workouts when I don’t have a lot of time.
Fitness is an important activity that we all should being incorporating into our lives. Our health should always be top priority, because if we don’t take care of ourselves, who will?
Monthly Manicure & Pedicures
This is a big goal for me as I am trying to focus on self care this year and making it into my monthly routine. I don’t spend enough time treating myself or relaxing as much as I should when I have down time. This will be one of those moments where I can truly relax and unplug for an bit.
Also, recent studies show that manicures and pedicures can also increase blood circulation in your hands and feet, ease aches and pain, stress relief, and many more positives. Let this be a sign for you to start trying to make getting manicures and pedicures in 2025.
Be More Present
As I grow older, I start to realize more and more that I need to live more intentionally. It’s easy to get caught up in your job or just every day life things. The end of 2024 made me think – I need to start living a bit more. Everyday doesn’t have to seem like we’re in a rat race.
My mornings are typically very busy. I’m planning to start doing 2-3 ten minute morning yoga sessions a week to help start my day with a clear mind and body. I’ve done this a couple times and I’m still surprised at how refreshing a relaxed I feel after.
This will be a ongoing goal of mine to always try and be present wherever I am.
Increasing Water Intake
Within the last year or so, I noticed that I’d gravitate towards more coffee during the week. The next thing you know, the day is almost over and I’d only drank about half of a water bottle in the entire day. This is definitely not good for my body, mind, etc. So, to ensure that I drink close to a gallon of water a day, I’ve started to set 2 hour increments throughout my day to finish 16oz of water.
I’ve been doing this for the past week now and it has been easier to surpass my water intake goal per day.
Do What Works Best For You This Year
These are just five of my goals I’m focusing on for this year. Some are more important than others, but I know this is what I’m really going to focus on changing in 2025. I hope you all are working towards a goal that you’ve set for yourself this year.
Challenging ourselves to implement change into our everyday lives for the better takes a lot of discipline. Having your new year goals written down or solidified will help guide you through the year when things get busy. Let’s have a great 2025 new year!
